Connor - “Its definitely a keeper”

Hi, I’m Con, the other half of Tides and Tribe. I was born in Brighton but now live on the North Kent coast.  I’ve been fishing for around 8 years. 

My passion for it began while working on the boats with my dad — being out at sea together is what first sparked my love for fishing, and I’ve enjoyed it ever since.
 

My Fishing Journey

Fishing Style: I love a mix of shore, pier, lure, and bait casting.  What I Target: Smooth hound and bass are my favourites.  

Memorable Catch/Memory: One of my best memories is a night fishing trip at Dungeness with my dad — lying under the stars while we fished. It was peaceful, unforgettable, and made me fall in love with fishing even more.  

Favourite Gear: My Penn Tidal XT 8000 reel paired with the Tidal Surf Caster 8oz rod. 

Outside the Water

When I’m not fishing, I’m usually training — boxing is a big part of my life, and I’m extremely athletic. Fishing gives me the balance I need between being active and finding peace.  

Why Fishing Matters to Me  

Fishing is peaceful and relaxing — it clears my head. I love sharing my journey to help others learn how to fish and to show that it’s not just about the catch, but about the experience and the time spent outdoors.
