Chesil Beach | Part 2 – Fishing at Ferry Bridge 11th June 2025
A couple of days after our first trip back at West Bexington, we returned to Chesil Beach, this time fishing at Ferry Bridge. And what a difference a couple of days made — we had an amazing time catching several species and went home with smiles on our faces.
As with our first post, we want to remind you that these early blog entries are recaps of past trips, so they’re lighter on detail than future posts. Moving forward, we’ll be sharing more in-depth tips, techniques, and insights from each adventure.
At Ferry Bridge, the sea was alive with activity, and our rods didn’t stay still for long.

Me: 1 dogfish, 2 baby conger eels, and a couple of mackerel.
- Connor: 3 baby congers, a baby bass, 9 mackerel, and 2 horse mackerel (also called scad).
It was the perfect way to round off our two-day trip to Chesil Beach. The variety of catches and the simple joy of being back on the water reminded us exactly why we love sea fishing. This trip fully reignited our passion, and we can’t wait to return later in the year — hopefully for some cod!
