Me and Connor headed over to West Parade, Hythe, where we met up with Aaron, Teejay and Dan for an overnight beach fishing session. We fished for around 12 hours, from approximately 8pm through until 8am, hoping Hythe might produce a few decent fish.
Unfortunately, it turned out to be an extremely quiet night!

Out of the five of us, Aaron was the only angler to catch, landing a small baby plaice and two very small smoothhound pups. Teejay had one incredible bite that unfortunately didn't result in a fish, while me, Connor and Dan couldn't find a bite at all.

The crabs, on the other hand, were certainly enjoying our bait!
We tried throughout the night but genuinely couldn't figure out why the fish weren't feeding. That's sea fishing sometimes — you can put in the hours and still come away scratching your head.

It certainly wasn't the Hythe session we'd hoped for, but it was still good to spend a night fishing with Connor and some good mates. Not every trip produces fish, and we'll always show the reality of our sessions — good, bad or somewhere in between.
