Deal, Kent Beach Fishing 28th October 2025
After our busy session at Hampton the night before, we decided to take it easy and head to Deal Beach for a calmer day out of the wind. It turned out to be a good choice — comfortable conditions, a bit of sunshine early on, and plenty of action on the rods.
The fishing itself was steady throughout the day. Whiting made up most of the catch again, with several decent ones taken home for the plate — can’t beat a good fish cake! Connor managed to mix things up with a couple of pouting, and between us we also had a few small flatfish to keep things interesting.
The highlight, though, had to be one of Connor’s fish — when he reeled it in, we noticed it had been chewed by a seal before he brought it ashore. Shows just how much life was in the water that day.
As always, part of what makes these trips special is the people you meet. We bumped into a lovely family with two young daughters who held a fish for the first time. It’s brilliant seeing kids show an interest in angling — gives you a bit of hope that the next generation might keep the passion alive.

We were both using 3-hook flapper rigs with size 2 hooks and lugworm for bait — simple setups that did the job nicely.
It was one of those laid-back sessions: decent weather, good company, and constant bites. Nothing huge, but enough to keep us busy and smiling.
About That Comment…
On our previous Hampton Beach video, someone left a comment saying:
“Oh dear, excited about whiting 🫣 Don’t people realise in match fishing this time of year you’ll need 60 or 70 sizable whiting to get in the top 3.”
Now, they’re right — for match fishing. But that’s not what we’re about. We’ve never claimed to be pros or match anglers. We’re just a father and son who enjoy fishing, filming it, and sharing it with anyone who wants to watch real, honest sessions.
So to that commenter (and anyone else who takes it all too seriously) — lighten up, enjoy it for what it is, and let people have fun doing what they love.
Final Thoughts
All in all, a cracking day at Deal. Plenty of bites, some nice fish for the table, and a few laughs along the way. Can’t ask for much more than that. Days like these are what it’s all about — fishing, family, and fresh air.
