Hampton | Fishing The Beach 3rd August 2025

Some trips stay with you forever, and our night at Hampton Beach is definitely one of those. The original plan was to fish the pier, but when we saw it was full, we decided to head further down the beach in search of some flatfish.

As always, these posts are recaps of past trips, so the details are lighter than what we’ll include in future posts. Moving forward, we’ll dive deeper into rigs, techniques, and all the little details that make each trip unique.

Using a flatfish rig with small hooks, I got very lucky and landed a beautiful smooth hound — a completely unexpected and amazing catch that made the night extra special. Moments like this are why we love sea fishing: the surprises, the thrill, and the simple joy of being out on the water.
