I used Bacon as bait on a float rig.

Fished 2 hours upto high. The wind was whipping the sea up at one side of the pier but it was calm on the other. Went down there on my bike with a minimal amount of tackle including a telescopic rod. Fished with smoked bacon lardons on a float with a 3ft snood to a size 1 circle hook. Caught a green eel and a 35cm bass (returned). I also had another good take but it didn’t hook on the strike/lift.
