Tankerton Slopes | Fishing the Beach 6th October 2025

Me and Connor headed over to Tankerton Slopes for a daytime session, hoping to get into a few fish and make the most of the good weather. It was one of those proper bright, warm days — blue sky, hardly any wind, and the sea looking spot on. To be honest, it was probably too nice. The kind of day that’s great for sitting on the beach, but not so great for catching.

We got set up early and fished through the tide, trying a few different baits and rigs, but there just wasn’t any sign of life out there. The water was clear, calm, and quiet — not a bite between us. It got to the point where things were that slow we actually got excited when Connor pulled in a baby crab that had been clinging to his bait 😂. That pretty much summed the session up.

Still, can’t complain too much. It was a cracking day to be out — warm sun on your back, sea breeze in your face, and good company. Sometimes that’s all you can ask for. You take the blanks on the chin, pack up, and plan the next one.

We’ll definitely give Tankerton another go soon, maybe on a cooler day or an evening tide when the fish are more active. For now though, this one goes down as a sunny blank — plenty of laughs, but no fish to show for it.
